Delta 8 Time in body
Delta 8 THC can be found in the
blood or urine for anywhere between 2 and 30 days. There are a lot of things
that can affect how long it takes for delta 8 to be completely flushed out of
your system. Delta 8 THC can be found in hair follicle tests for the longest
time (up to 90 days). But the results of these tests are often wrong, so they
are rarely used as the main way to test.
How long you'll have delta 8 in body depends on:
• The number of times you use
delta 8 THC. The more often you use it, the longer it stays in your body.
• Your age. People who are
younger tend to break down different substances faster than people who are
older.
• How the drug is taken in: forms
of delta 8 THC that are inhaled last the longest in the body.
• Your own metabolism. Some
people just burn calories faster than others.
• The dose given. The longer it
takes for the body to get rid of something, the more of it was given.
• Interactions with medications
and supplements. Any interaction between different chemicals in the liver will
change how delta 8 THC is broken down.
Delta 8 THC's half-life
There are two ways that delta 8
THC can break down: quickly and slowly. When you take delta 8, it takes your
body about a minute to get rid of the drug. After that time, the metabolic rate
slows down a lot, and delta 8 THC goes into the slow phase.
It takes about 30 minutes for
exactly half of the compound to be broken down, leaving about 50 percent of the
original dose. After 30 minutes, another half of the delta 8 THC is gone,
leaving only 25% in the body. The process keeps going until nothing is left. In
the next section, we'll go into more detail about the main things that affect
how long delta 8 THC stays in your body.
What Determines How Long Delta 8 THC Lasts?
How often you use it
Delta 8 THC stays in your body
longer when you use it more often. This pattern also holds for other
psychoactive cannabinoids, like delta-9 THC. Cannabinoids stick to fat cells,
which means that they dissolve in fat. Delta 8 THC will build up in your fat
cells if you take it often and in large amounts.
When the activity stops, these
buildups slowly start to flow back into the bloodstream. This makes it take
longer for these compounds to be flushed out of the body completely. Delta 8
users who only take it once or twice a week usually don't have any left in
their bodies after a week. On the other hand, people who use delta 8 THC five
or six times a week may have to wait a few weeks before a blood or urine test
can't find it.
Rate of Metabolism
As we age, our metabolic rate
starts to slow down. This is a common thing that doctors think about when they
write prescriptions. Someone in their 20s or 30s might only need three days to
get rid of all the delta 8 THC in their body, but someone in their 60s or 70s
might need up to six days. Still, there are a few exceptions to that rule. Some
people in their 70s or 80s can have the same metabolic rate as someone in their
30s.
How it's eaten or drunk
How delta 8 THC is broken down is
directly affected by how it is taken. Delta 8 THC products that are inhaled
work faster than those that are eaten or put under the tongue (within a few
minutes), but they also leave the body faster. There haven't been any studies
on how delta 8 THC is broken down when taken in different ways, but there is a
lot of information from people who have used delta 8 THC and related compounds
before. One study found that inhaled CBD was flushed out of the body almost
twice as fast as other forms. Of all the ways to take CBD, injection was the
fastest way to get rid of it.
